Don Edwards founded Compassionate Hospice when he saw the need for a hospice that fulfilled the true mission of palliative care -- focus on the patient.
Don has worked for a large corporate provider and a small family-owned hospice. In both cases, he focused his staff on the needs of patients, and both hospices grew as a result – one became the largest hospice in metro Atlanta. Prior to hospice, Don worked in healthcare for 28 years, including home health, healthcare administration, healthcare consulting and informatics. He has applied these experiences to Compassionate Hospice, making it the highest quality hospice in Georgia.
Don has lived in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. He has a BA in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has been married to Ginger Edwards for 26 years and has two children: Jordan, a graduate student at Georgia State, and Kyle, a sophomore at Reinhardt College. Don’s passions are work, family, golf, college football and his hot tub.

Steve Morris
President/Cofounder
Steve Morris founded Compassionate Hospice on the belief that hospice is about making each day of life the best it can possibly be. He and his staff are dedicated to helping terminally-ill patients live pain-free and with dignity, regardless of their ability to pay.
Before opening Compassionate Hospice, Steve’s experience included Regional Director of Operations at an assisted living facility, as well as positions in scientific research and patient care. Under his leadership, Compassionate Hospice has grown in large part through family referrals.
Steve grew up in Lake Arrowhead, California, graduated from Southwest Baptist University and worked on his Master’s and Doctoral studies in Biomedical Science at the University of Missouri. He enjoys listening to and learning from his patients’ life stories.

Shelisa Glynn, RN
Director of Clinical Operations
Working in hospice has taught Shelisa Glynn how to live, enjoy life and not to sweat the small stuff.
Shelisa has worked in hospice for 11 years and was honored as Patient Care Manager of the Year, due in part to outstanding feedback from patients’ families. She has served as an Inpatient Care Manager and Home Hospice Patient Care Manager. Shelisa currently oversees hiring, training and the quality improvement program. She also provides guidance to the clinical team and builds relationships with physicians in the community.
Shelisa was born in Vidalia, Georgia and graduated with honors from Gordon College. She has lived in Atlanta since she was five and has two teenage daughters. For Shelisa and her team, working at Compassionate Hospice is a mission, not a job.
